Definitions & Rules:
1) SUPA – Shanghai Ultimate
Players Association
2) Member of SUPA (Eligible to
vote) – Member of Jinqiao SFC (Shanghai Football Club) with “Frisbee” as the
indicated sport, or member of at least one SUPA league in the past 12 months.
Must also be a current resident of Shanghai with the
intention of remaining in Shanghai in the near
future.
3) Amendments to this Constitution
must be ratified by a 2/3 vote of SUPA
1: Introduction
Two committees will govern SUPA: an
Executive Committee and a Players Committee.
Committees will have differing responsibilities and will be charged with
leading SUPA. Committee decisions shall
be reached by consensus among committee members.
2: Executive Committee
responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

marketing of SUPA
2.2
communications (within SUPA and between other organizations such as SFC)
2.3 treasury
2.4
elections
2.5
coordinating tournaments and leagues (working with players committee)
2.6 holding
at least bimonthly general SUPA Meetings where all SUPA members are invited to
attend
3: Players Committee responsibilities
will include but not be limited to:
3.1
developing new members of SUPA, with an emphasis on local players
3.2
providing opportunities for more advanced players to improve skills
3.3
coordinating tournaments and leagues (working with executive committee)
3.4
providing a format for team selection (league and tournament)
4: Committee makeup and creation
4.1
Executive committee will have three members divided in the following way
A) President
– Also SUPA representative to SFC (must attend bimonthly meeting), and
member of players committee
B) Vice
President – In charge of marketing of SUPA to Shanghai and the
International Ultimate community, and in charge of communication amongst all
SUPA members
C) Treasurer
– In charge of all SUPA finances including issuing annual reports detailing
SUPA income and expenses, and responsible for annual elections
4.2 Players
committee will be made up of five members, one of whom is the president of the
Executive committee. Responsibilities
are detailed in 3.1-3.4
4.3
Potential Committee members must be nominated by a member of SUPA
4.4 Once
nominations are complete, a vote will be taken
4.4 Terms
will run for approximately 1 year
4.5 Election
process will be coordinated by the Executive committee treasurer and the whole
process should be completed within one month of the annual tournament (or in
the month of June if there is no tournament).
4.6 Vacancies
on a committee during a term will be filled by a joint decision by the two
committees if deemed necessary.
